One Flesh
Foreword
By Harold E. Buttram, M.D.
I was pleased and honored when the author of this work asked me to write the Foreword. However, as I read and reread the text I was struck by the nearly impossible task of placing this book in proper perspective.
Herein lies the solution to nearly all human ills as well as the keys to the mystery of life itself. What words could I use to convey to its readers the true value of this effort for their life on Earth now and their spiritual existence to come? In an age when every known superlative is used to extol the newest soft drink, there really are no words left to place in perspective something of truly exalted benefit for mankind.
Therefore, I must let each of you compare the revelations presented in this book with the best and most exalted instruction and understanding you have known up to this time and by such a comparison come to realize that what you have been taught on this subject previously is like comparing an ant hill to a volcano. The simile of a volcano is not at all ill-advised, for the gifts given to all of us in this work have the power to erupt and bury under a lava-like layer of truth and wisdom the present teachings that masquerade as sexual instruction.
The author, who is well-known to those interested in human advancement, confided in me that he had thought of taking the nom de plume of Prometheus, the god who brought fire to man, for this book, but finally decided against it. He thought Prometheus would be appropriate since, as he declares, the underlying sexual force in men and women is a fire-a fire of such potency that it has the power to either destroy or save mankind; to make life on this planet a hell or a heaven; not tomorrow, or at some distant time, but here and now. Therefore, by this work, he trusted that a new Prometheus would be able to bring a new fire to men and women; a fire that can, if they are willing to implement the teachings herein presented, not only save them and all mankind from the black pit of utter extinction now awaiting many of those who follow the modern gurus of sex, but also guide them to a peace and exaltation known to only a very few, either past or present.
You may well ask, "From whence come these teachings? Are they the creation of the author (or of Prometheus)?" No, they are not, although the author most certainly has codified them and added to them those items that are necessary to make them fully relevant to our present day.
These teachings go back to the beginning of human intelligence. They underlie the foundations of all true religious faiths but, due to the people's "hardness of heart" have been taught only to the few. The great Teacher of Nazareth spoke of the "Mysteries" that could not be imparted to the crowds He taught daily; these sexual instructions were an important part of those forbidden Mysteries. "Why," you ask, "would He not disclose these Mysteries of sex if they are as important as you imply?" This most compassionate of all men answered this question when He advised, "neither cast ye your pearls before the swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you." Two thousand years ago the general population could not understand the essential principles of Prometheus' revelations. People were simply too undeveloped spiritually, morally and intellectually. Even today we expect that only a small percentage of those who read this book will actually put into practice the principles taught. "Many are called, few are chosen." (are willing to put forth the needed effort to accomplish the desired result).
As mentioned, the principles of the One Flesh concept are not new but have been handed down from age to age by those who were, like the disciples of Jesus, knowledgeable of the Mysteries. The first time in history they began to be taught more openly was by the unified group of "Secret Spiritual Schools" that was formed in Germany in 1614. At this time the principles of Spiritual development by the proper direction of the sexual forces were put into print, although, of course, in a heavily veiled form, in keeping with the precautions required by those whose philosophy did not agree with the Church doctrine of that day.
It was not until the middle of the nineteenth century that a real breakthrough, for the general public, in valid sexual instruction occurred with the writings of Dr. Paschal Beverly Randolph. This great author of such works as The Master Passion, Eulis: The Immortality of Love, Love! At Last!, Love and its Hidden History, Love, Women and Marriage, along with a great many works on other social and Spiritual subjects, was both vilified and lionized during his life. Within the last few years a renewed interest in this most fascinating man, a man who was a true Prometheus of his day, has surfaced.
While Dr. Randolph continued the practice of teaching the most esoteric of sexual instruction only to those who had, by rigorous Spiritual training, prepared themselves to be able to use this instruction constructively, he did make available to the general public more of the previously withheld sexual instruction than any other teacher up to that time. His books are so powerful and prophetic that several of them are still in print and have a continuing dedicated following.
The flame that Dr. Randolph brought to mankind was picked up by Dr. R. Swinburne Clymer. Dr. Clymer was a great admirer of Dr. Randolph and, in his day, held the same Spiritual offices that Dr. Randolph had held. The two most important books on sexual instruction by Dr. Clymer are Race Regeneration and Divine Alchemy. Both of these remain in print today (Divine Alchemy is an esoteric work and is available only to those who have been properly prepared to utilize its teachings) and are considered by those "who know" as definitive in their class.
Our present Prometheus, the author of this work, was personally trained and ordained by Dr. Clymer and now holds the same Spiritual offices that Drs. Randolph and Clymer held in their day. The mantle of these great benefactors of mankind has now fallen upon his shoulders. It is his obligation, and joy, to see that the sacred flame of sexual instruction, brought first to America by Dr. Randolph, not only continues to burn ever more brightly, but is supplied with whatever new guidance is needed to meet the present-day requirements of all peoples everywhere.
Thus, the reader may see, the present work has a long and distinguished lineage. The author has carefully distilled the best vintages of the past and presents them in a form most understandable for today's seeker after love, truth and wisdom. Due to the perceived sexual emergency in our nation (AIDS and other insidious sexually transmitted diseases), it was necessary for him to devote much space to demonstrating the destructive nature of many of the present sexual recommendations by those who now hold themselves to be authorities on this subject. However, this is not the main thrust of this book. This main thrust is to instruct all readers how they can, by the constructive use of the sex function, create for themselves and their family a true Heaven on Earth; an exalted existence in which no good, constructive or beautiful sexual desire is to be denied, but which is without later regret and recrimination for acts committed against Nature or God.
If you are willing to prepare yourself for the exalted sexuality of the new Millennium, this book is your passport. Nothing good is denied by the practices herein taught. You have nothing to lose but the shackles placed on you by the blind who attempt to lead the blind.
Does this book tell all? No, that is not possible at this time in the development of mankind. It does, however, tell more than any other book available to the general public, now or in the past. For those who feel they are willing to make the necessary commitments, it does tell where and how those who really want it all can obtain information on the inner secrets of the Spiritual Sexual Mysteries.
